The Memphis Alumni Chapter answered the call of the Grand Chapter to get actively involved in the Unity ’04 Campaign. In the year 2003, the Memphis Alumni Chapter formed, under the guidance of Brother O.C. Pleasant, the Kappa Memphis Political Action Kommittee. This committee was formed to specifically address the education, registration, and participation of Memphis and Shelby County voters and the brothers of the Memphis Alumni Chapter. Since its inception, KMPAK has held voter education workshops for the Kappa League and our Undergraduate Chapters, registered in excess of three hundred (500) new and returned voters and established the Kappa Hour of Power. The Kappa Hours of Power is a project where as the brothers, their families, friends, other BGLO and the community as a whole are invited to join the Chapter in Early Voting at a selected voting site
